Abby isn't a big fan of it but she's a trooper. We are doing it on the couch today. This means there is a big pile of drool on it. Oh well!

Why aren't my hands free?
Abby got two hand knitted pairs of mittens from Grandma and she's not sure about them. She manages to wiggle out of them or get them wet because her hands are constantly in her mouth.
She's never really liked her hands constricted. Even in the hospital, when the nurse had tightly swaddled her, she got her little arm out of her pajama sleeve and up through the neck so it was free. This reminds me a lot of her Grandpere. When he was in a coma, at Yale New Haven in June 2006, all he wanted was his hands free. When we went to visit him, we'd untie him so he could put his hands up. (He had to be restrained so he wouldn't yank out his feeding tube.)
Even when she is sleeping, she is in a Halo sack that has the arms free. We got a swaddle me blanket but we never used it because she likes her arms free. She likes to sleep with her arms above her head sometimes. So she is in a fleece sack and covered to her waist. She's happy and snug as a pug in a rug.

Abby slept through the night!
After a week of 3:30 am wake up calls Abby slept until 6 am this morning! At 4 am I looked down at her and she was fast asleep. I think all the exersaucer action at Grandma's tired her out.
Of course now she is wide awake. I'm guessing her usual morning nap is not going to happen. But she is in her swing and just babbling as I work so all is ok.
Oh, and today Abby is officially three months old! Yeah Abby!

New toy!
Grandma B bought Abby an exersaucer at her house. Abby wasn't sure at first but she soon realized how nice it was to sit up and grab at her toys, including of course, her glow worm.
Mommy will add one to our house soon. But this means the bouncy chair may go into storage. But Abby has sort of outgrown it and the only one in the house who uses it right now is Hippie the cat. I'm sure Hippie will miss her bed.

Abby's new friends
Abby received two of these for Christmas, a pink one from Auntie Christy and a blue one from Grandma B. It is one of her favorite toys. It lights up and plays lullabies. She is mesmerized by it. Apparently is comes in handy during snack time, too.
Good Morning!
She is pretty happy for waking up at 3 am. Yes, 3 am!! Of course she has had two naps since. Mommy slept for a few before the alarm demanded she get up and face the work day. Sigh. . . She is fortunate that I love her to pieces. I'm not sure I'd even get up for Jeff that early!!!
Please make note that the pugs slept through it all, thank goodness. We wouldn't want to disturb their beauty sleep!

Happy New Year from the Lowds!
Despite some razzing from people, I did NOT stay up until midnight. Abby went down about 11 last night and so did Mommy! Jeff did come tp bed at 11:59 to kiss me though. Going to bed early was a good thing since Abby was up at 3:30 to eat.
She and Daddy are now sleeping and I am sipping my pumpkin coffee ans snuggling with the pugs on the couch. Not a bad way to start 2013.
As for resolutions, which I am not a fan of, I plan to write more (I have one writing gig already line up), and hopefully embroider and crochet more. I have been a slacker on all those fronts lately, but then again, Abby does keep me busy!
Happy 2013 all. I'm sure I will post a picture of my Abby later!
